“For me it’s inspiring to see other women in the business
succeeding and I really like how it’s an inclusive and
diverse work environment with a mix of cultures.”
I started with Domett in 2023 doing part-time work experience after finishing a Pre-Trade course through Toi-Ohomai. I’ve recently enrolled in the apprenticeship programme and I’m learning a lot.
I love the variety of work I get each day and take a lot of satisfaction out of learning new skills and seeing the finished products we make leave the factory.
I think it’s really important to have people around you with similar backgrounds to look up to and once further on with my apprenticeship I’m keen to try take on a team leader position.
I’ve found the company and team really supportive, appreciative of hard work and overall very welcoming.

“When I first started at Domett I pretty much had no practical experience at all – I hadn’t even used a drill before!”
